Seat Toledo AC not cooling
Summary of the thread
The air conditioning in a 2004 Seat Toledo is not cooling, with the system failing to switch on and a warning light appearing on the speedometer. An error related to the refrigerant compressor is stored in the error memory, leading to suspicion of a defective air conditioning control unit. A similar issue was resolved by replacing the faulty AC control unit, which was confirmed by a workshop specializing in auto AC repair.

Thanks for the quick reply. No, I can't hear any clicking from the compressor when I turn on the AC. The warning light in the speedometer comes on, and the error memory stores a fault related to the refrigerant compressor. Any idea what the problem was with your car?

Yep, sounds like the same issue I had. They initially suspected the compressor itself, but after some diagnostics, it turned out to be the AC control unit. If you're not hearing the compressor engage, and the error code points to it, the control unit is the likely culprit. I'd suggest getting it checked out by a workshop that specializes in auto AC repair and vehicle HVAC.

Just letting you know about the Seat Toledo AC issue. The workshop confirmed the AC control unit was faulty. Cost 980€ to replace. Thanks for the help!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my Seat Toledo. Same symptoms AC light on the dash, but no cold air. Error code pointed towards a problem with the AC system, but they couldn't pinpoint it right away. Does the compressor engage at all? Can you hear it click when you turn on the AC?
