Seat Toledo Active Hood Fault

What's the deal with this 'Active hood fault' on my 2004 Seat Toledo? Gasoline engine. Message pops up, airbag light's on, and some error stored somewhere. It seems like the spring actuators have been triggered. I suspect the acceleration sensor is faulty. Anyone seen this before in this car safety system?

I also own a Toledo and had something similar, airbag light and a warning message. I would ask if the hood latch is properly engaged. Is the error message constantly on?

Yeah, the message is always there, plus the airbag light. The spring actuators have been triggered as well. Did yours do that?

My issue was a defective impact sensor. It's part of the car safety system. I suggest you have a workshop inspect it and possibly replace the sensor. The impact sensor can cause the hood latch to show that message.

Turns out it was a defective impact sensor. Cost me 315€ to get sorted at the workshop, but at least the airbag light is off and the active hood fault message is gone. New sensor fitted and all is well.
