Seat Toledo Diesel Engine Trouble

I am writing to express my profound frustration with a recurring issue plaguing my Seat Toledo diesel from . The engine has begun exhibiting a constellation of alarming symptoms. Specifically, the vehicle experiences pronounced jerking during acceleration, accompanied by a persistent illumination of the check engine light. Diagnostic scans reveal a stored error in the error memory, indicative of a significant malfunction. Furthermore, I have observed a marked reduction in engine power, instances of the engine stalling at idle, unusually rough engine running, and a distinctly strong exhaust smell permeating the vicinity of the vehicle. My preliminary assessment suggests a defective intake manifold, potentially compromised by scorching. Could this be the reason for the engine misfire and the fluctuating manifold pressure? Any insights or guidance you could provide would be greatly appreciated, as this situation is proving to be exceedingly vexing.

Whoa, sounds like a proper mess! I had something similar happen with my Toledo. Jerky acceleration, engine light on... the whole shebang. Have you checked the manifold pressure sensor? That was the culprit for me. Worth a look!

Manifold pressure sensor, eh? Where exactly is that located, and is it something I could potentially check myself, or am I better off just taking it to a mechanic? I'm pretty handy, but I don't want to mess anything up further!

Yep, sounds like the same story. Honestly, save yourself the headache and just get it to a workshop. It could be a leaking intake manifold, and if it is, you'll need someone with the right tools and experience to replace it. Plus, they can properly diagnose the issue and make sure nothing else is contributing to the problem. Good luck!

I took the Toledo to the workshop as you suggested. Turns out you were spot on! It was indeed the intake manifold. The scorching was pretty bad, they showed me the old part. Cost me a hefty 1180€ to get it sorted, but at least it's running smoothly again. Thanks a million for your help!
