Seat Toledo Diesel Oil Pressure Issue

Thanks for the quick reply. The oil change was about 8000 km ago, so it should still be good. How would I go about testing the oil pressure sensor? And where is it located on the engine, roughly?

The sensor is usually near the oil filter. You'd need a multimeter to test it, checking for continuity and correct voltage. But with the noises you're hearing, and given the mileage, a failing oil pump is the more probable cause. I'd advise getting it checked by a professional before any further damage occurs. Continuing to drive with low oil pressure is risky.

Took the Toledo to the shop, and you were spot on. The oil pump was the culprit. New pump installed, along with an oil and filter change. Total cost came to 755€. Appreciate the help in diagnosing this!

Low oil pressure on a diesel Toledo can be a pain. When was your last oil change? Have you checked the oil pressure sensor itself? Sometimes a faulty sensor can trigger the warning light. Also, have you noticed any oil leakage?
