Seat Toledo electric steering column problem

I've got a problem with my 2001 Seat Toledo. It's got a gasoline engine and about 157000 km on the clock. The electric steering column adjustment isn't working anymore. There's an error stored in the error memory, and I can't adjust the steering column. From what I've read, it's likely a defective cable or plug connection.

Summary of the thread

The 2001 Seat Toledo has an issue with the electric steering column adjustment, which is completely non-functional. The problem is likely due to a defective cable or plug connection, as indicated by an error code. A similar case was resolved by addressing a bad connection in the steering column, suggesting that having a mechanic inspect and repair the wiring could be an effective solution.

Electric steering column issues sound rough! I had something similar with my Toledo, though I can't remember the exact details. Is it completely stuck?

Yeah, it's completely stuck. You mentioned a similar issue - do you remember what the problem was in your case?

Ah, right. Now I remember. Mine was also totally stuck, no movement at all. I didn't try to fix it myself, just took it to a workshop. They said it was a bad connection somewhere in the steering column. If the error code points to that, maybe get a mechanic to check the wiring?

You were right, it was a faulty connection. A workshop sorted it out for 95€.
