Seat Toledo Engine Trouble
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Seat Toledo with a diesel engine experienced starting issues, occasional engine shutdowns, and rough running. The initial suspicion was a faulty ignition switch. The dashboard light illuminated, suggesting the battery was not the issue. The problem was confirmed to be a defective fuse related to the ignition switch, which was resolved with a repair.

The dashboard light does illuminate with the ignition key. Regarding starting issues, what should I look for?

Okay, since the dashboard light is on, it's likely not a completely dead battery. Given the symptoms, a faulty ignition switch seems plausible, especially if the fuse related to it is defective. It might be best to have a workshop diagnose it to confirm.

I wanted to thank you for your advice. The issue was indeed related to the ignition switch. A defective fuse was the culprit. The repair cost 52€.

That sounds like it could be the ignition switch. Does the dashboard light illuminate when you insert the ignition key? Have you experienced any starting issue before this happened?
