Seat Toledo gearbox issues

My 2015 Seat Toledo with a diesel engine is giving me grief. Paddle shifters are unresponsive, gearbox slips, shifts are unclean, and I hear grinding noises. Paddle shifters are slow to respond. Gearbox goes into emergency mode and an error is stored. Suspect a defective transmission control unit. Anyone seen this before?

Whoa, sounds familiar! I had similar gearbox issues with my Toledo. Paddle shifters went haywire, and the shifts were rough. Emergency mode kicked in a few times too. Was bricking it! Could be the car computer, aka automotive ECU, acting up. What year is yours?

ECU? You mean the transmission control module? Was it the same symptoms? Slipping, grinding, and emergency mode?

Yep, that's it! The transmission control module, call it what you will. Symptoms sound exactly like what I experienced. Best get it checked at a workshop, those gearbox issues can get expensive fast.

Control unit replaced. Cost me around 1000€, as expected. Thanks for the input.
