Seat Toledo Sound System Failure

My 2018 Seat Toledo with a diesel engine is doing my head in. The sound system has completely konked out. Nothing, nada, zip! The error memory is showing some fault but I don't have the expertise to investigate it myself. My mechanic suspects a defective display. Anyone else experienced this? Getting proper speaker crackle withdrawal symptoms here!

I had a similar issue with my Toledo's sound system. Have you checked the MOST ring? A break in the fiber optic loop can cause the entire system to shut down. Do the dashboard controls still function, or are they unresponsive?

MOST ring, huh? Sounds fancy! Where exactly would I find this 'ring' you speak of? And yeah, the dashboard controls are dead as a doornail. No response whatsoever.

Given that your dashboard controls are unresponsive, and you have a stored error, a defective display module is highly probable. The MOST ring distributes data via fiber optic cable to all of the components in the infotainment system. It's a fairly common fault. I'd advise taking it to a workshop for diagnosis.

Took your advice and brought the Toledo to the shop. They confirmed the display was toast, just like you said. Ouch! New display and labour set me back 725€. At least my tunes are back! Thanks again for the heads up!
