Sedici exhaust back pressure sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Fiat Sedici with 183,655 km is experiencing warning lights and smoke during acceleration, suspected to be due to an exhaust back pressure sensor issue. The symptoms include rough running and increased fuel consumption, indicating potential impacts on emissions and engine performance. A similar issue in another vehicle was resolved by replacing the back pressure sensor, which was confirmed as the problem in this case as well. After replacing the sensor, the vehicle's performance returned to normal.

Yes, definitely some rough running, especially at lower RPMs. Feels like it's struggling, and fuel consumption seems to have increased slightly. What was the issue with your Megane, and what did you do to resolve it?

Turned out to be the back pressure sensor. I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop. They'll be able to confirm it quickly.

Thanks for the advice! You were spot on; took it to the workshop, and it was indeed the exhaust back pressure sensor. Replaced it, and everything is back to normal. Cost me 245€ all in. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my old Renault Megane, though it was a diesel. Same symptoms: warning light and smoke. Is the car running rough?
