Sedici Fault Code and Incorrect Coding
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Fiat Sedici owner reported a fault code and engine light, with an OBD-II scan suggesting a potential issue with the control module and incorrect coding. The problem was purely indicator-related, with no impact on vehicle performance. It was advised to seek professional assistance to avoid further complications. The issue was resolved by recoding the vehicle at a workshop, which cleared the error message and turned off the engine light.

Good to know it's not just me! I have not noticed any performance issues. Everything seems to be running as it should, it's purely indicator-related. Do you recall the specifics of the error code you encountered?

Given it's purely indicator-related and you suspect coding issues, I'd strongly advise against attempting any fixes yourself without the proper diagnostic tools and expertise. Incorrect coding can potentially brick the ECU. It's probably best to take it to a trusted workshop with experience in Fiat systems. They should be able to diagnose and recode the system properly.

I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on. They confirmed the coding was incorrect. Recoding the vehicle sorted the problem; the total cost was 360€. The error message has gone, and the engine light is off. Thanks again for your help!

I had a very similar experience with my Sedici. The error messages and engine light are definitely annoying. Was there any noticeable impact on the vehicle's performance, or is it purely an indicator issue?
