Sedici Serpentine Belt Tensioner Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Fiat Sedici diesel owner experienced an issue with the serpentine belt tensioner, which was not maintaining proper tension. Yes, the serpentine belt tensioner. The belt isn't slipping off, but it's not maintaining tension. I replaced the belt recently, so it's not that. Is a defective tensioner the likely culprit?

Sounds like it. If the belt is new and the tensioner isn't keeping it tight, the tensioner is the most likely problem. Get it checked at a workshop. It may cost around 455€ to fix.

Thanks for the confirmation. Took it to the workshop, and it was indeed the tensioner. Replaced it, and all good now!

Belt-handover? Do you mean the serpentine belt tensioner? And what do you mean by 'no longer works'? Is it squealing, or is the belt slipping off? Have you checked the belt itself for wear?
