Seeking Advice for 2000 Mazda Premacy Diesel AC Issue and Potential Air Quality Sensor Problem
Summary of the thread
The issue revolves around a 2000 Mazda Premacy Diesel's air conditioning system blowing warm air and having insufficient heating/cooling. The owner suspects a faulty air quality sensor signal. A fellow Mazda owner suggests checking the sensor line, as a similar problem was resolved by replacing a defective line. Additionally, the possibility of low AC refrigerant was raised, which might require recharging. The owner plans to investigate these potential causes with a mechanic.

Hey, really appreciate the quick response and advice! As far as recent changes go, there hasn't been anything major apart from my routine service around 500 KM back when my total mileage was just on the verge of hitting 198,000 KM. Apart from that, everything's been pretty straightforward with my old beast. Guess I'll take your advice and bump that sensor line to the top of my checklist when I get a chance to take it over to my neighborhood mechanic. Here's hoping it's as simple as a line replacement! Cheers for the help!

Good to hear back from you! It's great that you're keeping up with regular services, that definitely helps in keeping the car’s longevity. Given the distances, your Premacy has covered, it's not surprising some parts could start to play up. And the fact that your AC system is still good suggests overall good maintenance on your part. The issue could indeed be as simple as the sensor line needing a replacement. Alternatively, it could also be related to your AC refrigerant – it might be low and require recharging. Usually, this should be part of regular service, but sometimes, it might get overlooked. So, might be worth checking that as well while you're at it. Do keep us all posted about your progress. This forum has a great group of people having loads of experiences that could help others. Fingers crossed the fix gets done smoothly. Good luck!

Bloody legend! I didn't really give a thought about the refrigerant. Must give that a look during the check as well. Yeah, this forum is brilliant and you've all been great. Will keep you guys posted about what comes of all this. Fingers crossed it's simple, and I can get back to enjoying my Premacy without breaking the bank. Once again, appreciate all the insights and quick responses. Cheers, you're lifesavers!

Yes, you can use an 80 AH battery in your 2003 Mazda Premacy Diesel. However, it's important to also check the Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) rating of the battery. The CCA is the number of amps a battery can deliver at 0°F for 30 seconds and not drop below 7.2 volts. So, a higher CCA rating is better for your vehicle, especially in cold weather. Also, make sure the physical dimensions of the battery fit your car's battery tray. Let us know how it goes or if you have any other questions.

Hey there, sounds like a bummer. I had a similar issue with my 1998 Mazda MX-5. Don't get me wrong, I'm no expert, just a guy who dug deep into the car forums when this happened. Turned out for me, it was the line/cable from the sensor that was defective. Got the good guys at my local workshop to get a look into it, they were fantastic - super resourceful and not too heavy on the pocket either. Cost me around 95 Euro to get it fixed! I'd say the first step's to check out that sensor line. But for a more thorough diagnosis, I need a few more details about your Premacy. Any recent changes or work done on the car? Really hoping this helps you out good luck!
