Seeking Advice for 2016 Volvo S90 Hybrid Problems: ABS/DSC Failure, Vibrating Steering Wheel and Power Steering Issues

Hey everyone! I need your help with my 2016 Volvo S90 Hybrid. It's acting weird lately - the ABS/DSC isn't working, the power steering has gone and the steering wheel keeps vibrating. My first thought is an issue with the electric power steering signal. Can anyone share their experiences of similar problems and how your workshop resolved it? Really appreciate any insights or tips!

Hey there! Sounds like a tricky issue you got. I've got some experience with car stuff and I had a similar problem with my 2014 Volvo S80. Turned out, it was a defective cable connection/plug connection. Had it sorted at my local garage for about 155 Euro. Could be something similar for your S90 Hybrid, but I can help more if you give me a bit more info about your car like mileage, any previous issues, regular maintenance, etc. Good luck with it!

Hey! Thanks for the quick response. My Volvo has covered roughly around 141,785 KM. She got regular services, with the last one being just a month ago. I've never faced this steering issue before though. But now it's making me a bit worried because I use my car daily. Will look into the cable connection, cheers for the tip!

Hey! No problem, always here to help. Your Volvo's pretty much experienced judging from the mileage. But don't worry too much, these cars are built to last! Just make sure to first verify that error with a full system scan at a local workshop before proceeding. With what you've described, it might just be an electrical fault like a loose or damaged cable connection. Sometimes external factors like heat, wear and tear can affect these electrical parts which eventually lead to these kinds of situations. It’s really hard to give an accurate diagnosis without seeing the car, but I had a similar issue with mine and it was resolved by replacing the power steering control module. It was a bit pricey, but hey, safety matters! Also, remember that if servicing is done right and on schedule, these issues should not occur too often. Again, your best step now is to get it to a professional mechanic ASAP. Good luck, and keep us posted on how it's going!

Hey, thanks for the advice! Yeah, the mileage is a bit on the high side, but I had trust in the solid build quality of these Volvos. I think you're right about getting a full system scan done; probably best to play it safe and ensure nothing serious is going on. And yeah, pricey or not, safety's always top priority! I'm scheduling an appointment with my usual mechanic for a thorough checkup. Fingers crossed, it's something manageable. And for sure, I'll keep you updated on how it turns out. Thanks again for the help, appreciate it!
