Hey, appreciate your quick response! To fill you in on the specifics, my Passat's got a gasoline engine, and the last service was done pretty recently. Mileage is pretty high, around 185155 km, but it's been well-maintained all along. Had some minor repairs recently, but nothing major. Should I go for the sensor replacement directly or check out something else before? Cheers!

Hey, thanks for the info! Given your vehicle's high mileage, it's likely the sensor may just be running its course. In my experience (remember my trusty '08 VW Passat!), I'd say it wouldn't harm to get the temperature regulation system checked in its entirety. The AUC sensor might be the culprit, but there can also be issues with the blower motor, the heater core, or the thermostat. I'd first confirm the diagnosis with a reliable mechanic before rushing into changing the sensor. If it ever turns out you need this done, though, I paid about 90€ for mine. Cheers and good luck! Hope the issue gets sorted out soon. Let us know how you get on!

Hey! Thanks for such a detailed response, really hit the spot. I think you're right, it'd be wise to get the temperature regulation system fully checked rather than blindly changing the sensor. Interesting to know that it could be an issue with the blower motor, heater core, or thermostat. I'll have a pro mechanic look into it. I'll keep you updated as things progress. Thanks for giving me a better handle on my situation, much appreciated! Cheers!

Hey! I had a similar problem with my 2008 VW Passat Sedan. I'd rate my car expertise as low, but, thankfully, my local mechanic helped me out. It turned out the sensor was indeed at fault. For me, the breakdown was around 90€ to replace the defective sensor. Can you let us know more about your vehicle's specifics - fuel type, mileage, previous repairs, etc.? I'm sure that'll help all of us pinpoint your problem more efficiently. Cheers!
