Seeking Advice on 2014 Fiat Siena: Oil Light, Metal Bits in Oil, and Odd Warning Light Issues

Hey, need some advice here. My 2014 Fiat Siena with a gas engine has been acting off lately. I noticed the oil light turning on, found metal bits in the oil, and there's an odd warning light on the speedometer. I suspect it's due to low oil pressure, but I'm not entirely sure. Has anyone else experienced similar issues? What exactly was the problem and how did your mechanic sort it out? Would appreciate your insights and experiences. Cheers!

Hey ran into a similar issue with my 2012 Fiat Palio, part of the same Fiat family. I'm no car guru, but I've picked up some know-how from incidents like these. Turns out I had wrong engine oil in there. Got it sorted at my local garage where they flushed the incorrect oil and refilled it with proper stuff. Set me back about 175 Euro. They advised regular checks on the oil filter and oil grade due to my past mistake. It sounds like your Siena could be going through the same situation. Can you offer more info like mileage, last oil change, engine model? That might help me guide you better.

Hey there! Thanks for sharing that. Really appreciate it. My Siena has traveled about 55426 km so far. The last time I serviced it was a couple of months ago. Pretty sure they used the right oil grade then. That warning light just appears outta nowhere and goes away, which is kinda weird. Apart from that, everything seemed fine during the last service. It's the standard gasoline one, no hot-rod stuff here. But yeah, I reckon I'll get the oil checked, needs to be done anyways. Cheers!

Hi wow, we've almost got the same mileage on our Fiats! Well, since you had it serviced recently with correct oil and you don’t mess around with racing, I would suggest going back to your mechanic. It could be a faulty oil pump or there may be some sort of blockage in the engine causing the low oil pressure. That could account for the warning light and metal bits. An engine flush might help remove debris and unblock the passageways. And the oil light... it's not supposed to come and go, it’s telling you that there's an issue that needs attention. So definitely don’t ignore it. I guess another check-up is unavoidable at this point. Let me know how it goes and good luck with it, chap!

Hey! Yea, the twin mileage on our Fiats is a funny coincidence! Thanks for all that advice, especially about that pesky oil light. I was hoping to avoid another trip to the mechanic, but guess there's no swerving around it now, eh? I'll have them check the oil pump and possibly do an engine flush like you suggested. I’m just hoping it isn't anything too serious. I'll keep you posted about how it goes. Thanks again for the help. Really appreciate you taking the time. Catch you later and happy driving! Cheers!
