Seeking Advice on 2020 Kia Seltos Power Loss, Poor Gas Mileage, and Engine Issues

Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my 2020 Kia Seltos with a gas engine. It's showing a lit check engine light, poor gas mileage, and losing power. Not just that, it shakes when idle and there's this strong exhaust smell. I'm thinking it could be due to the engine running roughly, but I'm not sure. Does anyone have any ideas or ever had to deal with something similar? How did your workshop fix the issue? Would appreciate any advice or shared experiences, thanks!

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2018 Kia Soul (a cousin to your Seltos). I can't claim to be a car guru but I do have some experience under my belt. Had the same symptoms like you've described. After much stress, found out the tricky bit was a couple of Defective injectors. Ended up shelling out about 515 Euro at a local garage. They replaced those rascals and Bob's your uncle! The car ran smoother than ever. But hey, don't take my word as gospel. A few more details about your Seltos (like engine size, milage, etc.) could help pinpoint the issue more accurately. All the best, and hope you get it sorted out without much drama!

Appreciate your insights! My Seltos has a 2.0L Gasoline engine and the mileage is about 136.6k KM. So, the scenario might align with your injector issue. Will definitely explore that avenue. Thanks again for sharing, will update y'all once I've found out more. Cheers!

No worries glad to help! With that mileage and given the symptoms, guess it could indeed be an injector issue. Worth getting a mechanic to check as those rascals can throw a spanner in the works. Be sure to do an error code reading before anything else, should give you a proper heads up. Keep us posted on your progress and remember - we're all in this together. Cheers and good luck with your Kia!

Thanks for all the advice, really appreciate it. I'll surely get an error code reading before doing anything else. With a bit of luck, it's not too major an issue. Really hope it gets sorted without burning too big a hole in my pocket. Will keep you all posted on how things turn out. Cheers to the helpful community here!
