Summary of the thread
A 2021 Renault Arkana Hybrid is experiencing an oil light issue, with metal bits found in the oil and a warning light on the speedometer. The problem may be related to the engine oil pressure control, possibly involving a defective or oily cable harness on the oil pressure control valve. Hey! Your experience really helps. Cheers for the heads up! Mine's a pretty standard model, got it serviced last at 141420 km, no major mods or any of that jazz. It's funny 'cause it's my first hybrid engine and it's already giving me a good scare. I'll take it to my garage and get the harness and control valve checked out. Here's hoping it won't burn a bigger hole in my pocket. Thanks a ton for your advice!

Hey, great to hear back! Just a heads up, the hybrid mode in your Arkana might make things a tad more sophisticated but believe me, it’s worth it in the long run. Trust me; my Kadjar would be just as snazzy if I had hybrid too! When you take your ride to the garage, don't forget to let them know about the hybrid engine being on the fritz. In my own experience, these problems typically point to engine oil pressure control. If you're lucky, you won't need a full replacement - a good clean-up of the harness and valve might just do the trick. Keep an eye on those metal shavings too. You'd want to prevent any more damage to the engine. Also, as per the price, it can fluctuate depending on where you live and the current parts price. Do keep me posted on how it goes! All the best!

Thanks for all the insightful advice! I'm learning tons about the wonders and woes of hybrid vehicles. I'll make sure to mention the hybrid part to my trusted mechanic, hope he can figure this out without a complete replacement. Those metal shavings worry me a lot, it’s like the engine’s crying! As for the cost, well, it's part of the game I guess. Oh, and totally get your point about hybrids being worth it. Apart from this problem, it's been a smooth, eco-friendly ride. Will definitely keep you posted about the progress. Much appreciated! Cheers!

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2018 Renault Kadjar a while back. Just a bit of background, I wouldn't call myself a pro, but I have some experience tinkering with cars. Anyway, the problem had me puzzled for a bit until my mechanic found that the cable harness on the oil pressure control valve was oily and defective. Mine was fixed in the local garage for €350, and annoying as it was, it sorted everything right out. They thoroughly cleaned the harness and replaced the damaged parts. Afterward, my oil light stopped flashing and no more metal bits, phew! Your model might be slightly different, so do you have any specific features or modifications? That would help me give more detailed advice. Cheerio!
