Seeking Advice on Dacia Dokker's Seat Heater Issue

Hey! I'm driving a 2016 Dacia Dokker, Gasoline engine, just over 104,000 km on it. Lately, the seat heaters are on the blink. Any of you faced something similar? How'd your mechanic deal with it? Got a rough experience last time I got her fixed, so any advice would help. Cheers!

Hey! Fun you should mention that, I drive a 2013 Dacia Logan MCV and had the same issue with my seat heaters a while ago. I'll tell ya, it gave me a surprise on a frosty morning! Turned out, my garage guy found it was a wiring problem. The heating mat had faulty connectors that kept tripping and he had to replace the entire unit for both seats. It was a bit of a fiddle for him, but nothing overly complex. However, as these things are built into the seat, it was a bit time-consuming. He also warned that continued use of a defective seat heater could potentially have safety issues. Wouldn't want an electrical fire in a moving vehicle, no siree! Hope this helps and best of luck with the heater fix. Cheers!

Hey! Ah, cheers for the quick response! A wire issue, huh? I swear these cars always throw a curveball when you least expect it. I feel you on the frosty morning surprise, nothing quite like jumping into a chilled seat first thing in the morning. Replacing the whole unit sounds like a bit of a hassle, but I'd definitely rather avoid any potential fire hazards. Might I ask, do you remember what sort of cost I might be looking at for that kind of fix? Also, have you had any other unexpected surprises come up with your Dacia since the heater issue? Appreciate your help! Cheers!

Hey again, Sure thing! So, in regards to the cost, to get the whole heating mat in the seat replaced set me back about 390€. A pretty penny indeed, but hey, now I get toasty buns on chilly mornings again, so it was worth it all things considered. As for any other surprises with my Dacia after sorting the seat heater, well, none that I can think of right off the bat. Of course, cars being cars things do pop up from time to time, but ever since my mechanic sorted out the seat heater issue, she's been running fairly smooth. Again, hope this helps and keep us updated! Cheers!

Hey! Thanks for getting back with more details! 390€ is indeed a bit of a hit, but for warm and cozy rides, I think I can swing it. And good to hear your Dacia's not thrown any more tantrums since then. Gives me a bit more confidence to take mine in. Really appreciate your advice. Will definitely update about how things go down at the garage. Fingers crossed, she'll be back in action soon. Cheers!
