Seeking Advice on Deactivating Transport Mode in a 2000 Kia Retona with Faulty Vehicle Functions
Summary of the thread
A 2000 Kia Retona is experiencing non-operational vehicle functions, a stored fault, and a warning light, possibly due to the transport mode being active. The issues, primarily electrical, include a non-functional radio, flickering lights, and malfunctioning power windows. A previous jump start might have caused these problems. The suggested solution is to visit a workshop for an electronic reset to clear the fault, which resolved similar issues in another vehicle.

Hey, thanks for reaching out! You're right on the money, the issues are largely electric - radio's down, lights flicker, and then the power windows decided they've had enough. That bit about the jump start could be the root cause, I had to resort to it a couple of weeks back. Great spot! By the way, the last service was at 16800 KM. Time to pay a visit to the workshop, I guess. Thanks again! Cheers!

Hey, no problem at all! Glad I could help. Sounds like you're on the right track. I remember my radio took a hit when I had that issue, as well. Flickering lights and rebellious power windows definitely point to an electrical issue. Since your car is at 16800 KM, it's a good time for a check-up anyway, right? It's likely your workshop might reset the electronics and hopefully clear the fault. That fixed it for my Sorento. You'll probably be back up and running in no time! Definitely worth the visit to prevent further issues. Wishing your Kia a quick recovery. Keep us updated! Cheers!

Hey! I had something like that with my 2002 Kia Sorento. Not a car expert here, but I'd say I have some experience under the hood. I reckon it could be an electrical issue. My workshop sorted it out; they said it happened because the car was started with a jump start which cocked up some electronics. Cost me a pretty 45 Euro. Just out of curiosity, when you say some functions are non-operational, are we talking lights, radio, that sort of thing? It’d be grand if you could share more about that. Cheers!
