Seeking Advice on Transmission Issues and Noise in 2022 Renault Arkana Hybrid Model
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Renault Arkana Hybrid is experiencing transmission slipping, unusual shifting, and grinding noises. The initial suspicion is a transmission oil pressure cooler issue. A similar case with a Renault Koleos was resolved by replacing a defective valve cable connection. Hey there, really appreciate your insight! I've clocked about 61566 km on my Arkana. As for behavior before the issue, it had a smooth performance with no problems, so this came outta nowhere. The car saw its last service recently, but nothing alarming was flagged then. I'll check into the valve cable thing. Thanks for the great suggestion, and the reassurance on costs too. Let's see how it goes! Cheers!

Hey, glad to be of any help! Based off your Arkana's mileage and the recent service, this does sound unusual. The fact that your car was performing all smooth suggests it could be a sudden glitch or a part failure, rather than wear and tear. Since you recently serviced it, I encourage you to take your Arkana back to that same service center or another trusted garage, just to have it professionally inspected. I understand it might be a bit of a hassle, but it's better to have it checked sooner than later to prevent any serious damage. Even though in my case it was the valve cable, I'd like you to remember that each car might have its own issues so definitely, your problem might be different. Get it checked and keep us updated. Trust your gut feeling. Happy motoring!

Cheers for the detailed advice! Right, taking it back to the same garage must be a good idea since they would be familiar with what was serviced and what wasn't, plus they might also catch something they might've missed during the last service. I'll ensure to provide an update on how things turn out. Appreciate the help and the hindsight, fellow car enthusiast. Safe driving to you too!

ARKANA

Hey there, I've got a 2020 Renault Koleos with very similar characteristics to your Arkana, as they’re from the same brand. I might only have some experience due to my curiosity for cars, but hopefully, it'll still be handy. Once, I had a similar problem and it turned out to be a defective valve cable connection. The symptoms were somewhat similar, with odd transmission behavior and all. The workshop guys got it cleared up for me, essentially, they replaced the defective cable and the issue was gone. The repair cost me around 170 euro, surprisingly not as heavy on the pocket as I feared. The key, I guess, is to get it to professionals who know what they're doing. Without further ado, could you tell me more about your Arkana? Specifically, its mileage, its driving behavior before the issue, and whether you've recently maintained it at a specialized garage or not? These infos can give me more insights to possibly help you further. Stay ahead of the curve, friend!
