Seeking Advice on Troubleshooting Air Conditioning Problem in Renault Arkana Hybrid 2021

Hey all, I've got a bit of a puzzler with my Renault Arkana Hybrid 2021. Recently noticed the A/C is only blowing warm air, the heating and cooling just don't seem as powerful as they should be, and on top of that, the entire A/C system won't even engage half the time. I'm thinking it could be an issue with the heat exchanger temperature sensor. Any Renault experts out there ever run into something like this before? What steps did you take to fix it and how did your workshop experience go? Thanks in advance!

Hey there! I'm far from a car expert, I'd call myself more of an enthusiast with some experience. I had a similar problem with my 2019 Renault Kadjar. Found out my A/C was acting up due to a faulty air conditioning control unit. At first, I thought it's a simple sensor issue or a refrigerant backlog too, but after bringing it to a trusted local workshop, they diagnosed it with control unit trouble. Long story short, it cost me 980 euro to have it fixed – tough pill to swallow, but no problems with my A/C since then. The unit might be defective in your Arkana Hybrid as well. However, to give more specific advice, could you share more about your vehicle? Mileage, any past issues, regular maintenance, things like that? Cheers.

Hey, I appreciate the insight! To answer your question, my Arkana has done about 26014 km up till now and got its latest service just a few months back. No significant past issues – it's been pretty reliable. I'll take your advice and get the A/C control unit checked out at my local workshop, hopefully, it won't cost an arm and a leg! Cheers.

Hey, good to hear back from you! With that kind of mileage and a recent service, your Arkana is still pretty young in car years. You're doing a great job keeping it maintained! Sorry if I gave you a bit of a fright with the 980 euro thing, costs can vary largely depending on a bunch of factors. Your issue might be as simple as a refrigerant refilling, or yes, it could be that pesky control unit. Just remember to stick with a trusted workshop - don't be tempted by those cheap fixes, they can cause you more headache in the future. One more advice, get a second opinion if the quoted price seems a too steep or the diagnosis doesn't sound right. Feel free to do some research before committing to a fix. Remember, nobody knows your car better than you do! Tap into your instincts. Hope this helps and your A/C troubles get sorted out soon. Let us know how you go! Cheers.

Can't thank you enough for the reassurance and advice! All really good points and I'll definitely make sure to do my research and potentially get a second opinion. I'll be mindful of those cheaper fixes too, don't want more trouble down the line. Fingers crossed it's something simple like a refrigerant refill and not the control unit. I'll drop a line once it's all sorted. Thanks again for the help, talk to you soon! Cheers.
