Seeking Advice on Warning Signs in 2019 Mazda CX-5 Diesel: Check Engine Light, DPF Regeneration Failure, and Empty AdBlue Tank.

Hey everyone! I'm driving a 2019 Mazda CX-5 with diesel engine. It's got significant mileage, about 243,718 KM. Recently, I've got a few warning signs I'm pretty concerned about -- check engine light, DPF regeneration failure, and a warning light in the speedometer. I suspect it's something to do with an empty Ad-Blue tank. Has anyone else dealt with similar issues? How was your experience at the mechanic? I'd appreciate any info or advice. Being a bit wary of mechanics after my last visit didn't go too well. Cheers!

Summary of the thread

A 2019 Mazda CX-5 diesel with high mileage is experiencing warning signs, including a check engine light, DPF regeneration failure, and a warning light on the speedometer. The suspected cause is an empty AdBlue tank, which is crucial for emission control. A similar case involved a blocked AdBlue injector and DPF complications, resolved by cleaning the injector and addressing the DPF issue. The suggested solution is to consult a mechanic to check the AdBlue system and DPF, as timely intervention can prevent further complications.

Hey! I got a similar issue with my 2016 Mazda CX-5 diesel a while back. Slapped a bitter half a million KMs on that old thing. The same blinking lights drove me nuts! At first, I suspected Ad-Blue, and rightly so! Thing was - the system wasn't getting enough of it. Mechanic bloke suspected it was the Ad-Blue injector, and after some checking, he found it blocked. He had to clean it up, y'know to ensure proper flow of Ad-Blue into the system. Plus, there was a little mess with the DPF - regeneration issue. They also took a look at that and got it all fixed. So, indeed it was an Ad-Blue level issue, combined with DPF complications. Now, ain't gonna sugarcoat anything, it was a bit of a serious issue. The car itself is quite reliant on Ad-Blue for emission controls, and with the DPF also playing up, it wasn't gonna be a walk in the park. But hey, they got it all done and dusted. Trust me it's best to tackle this head on. Sure your mileage is hefty, but these Mazdas are sturdy runners. Hope you get it sorted. Good luck!

Hey, thanks for sharing your experience! Your situation seems pretty similar to what I'm going through with my Mazda. It's good to know you managed to solve the problem. Do you recall how much it set you back? And have you experienced any similar problems after the fix was done? Looking forward to your reply!

Hello again! Yeah, I remember the cost pretty well, because frankly, it wasn't as steep as I was fearing! The whole job of clearing up the Ad-Blue issue cost me around 65 Euro, quite a decent deal if you ask me. Haven't had any similar problem since then. It appears our problem was the low Ad-Blue level, and since the mechanic's visit, it's just been smooth sailing. Hope yours turns out to be a similar case! Take care!

Thanks for the quick response! It's a relief to hear it wasn't as expensive as I feared, and that there haven't been any similar issues since then. I'll schedule an appointment with the mechanic right away. Fingers crossed for a 'smooth sailing' like yours! Cheers for the advice, really appreciate it!
