Seeking Solutions for Electrical Malfunction and Navigation System Issue in a 2007 Nissan 350Z: Possible Flex-Ray Bus Error?

Hey folks, got an oddball issue with my 2007 Nissan 350Z. I'm dealing with an electric malfunction, busted navigation system, and a warning light randomly appearing on my speedometer. Been thinking it might be related to a potential Flex-Ray bus error. Anyone come across this before or have ideas about what's up? Keen to hear how you got this fixed or any workshop experiences you've had. Cheers!

Hey! Had a similar issue with my '05 Nissan 370Z. I'm not a car guru but have tinkered a bit here and there with my own rig. Turns out it was a defective cable connection that was giving me the headache. Took it to my local garage where they sorted it out for around 155€. Wondering though, did you get any error codes when the warning light came on? The model and year of your car would also help to narrow down the issue. Looking forward to your reply. Cheers!

Appreciate your quick response! It did kick up some error codes, got them jotted down at home. I'll pull them up and send them your way later tonight. The old gal's a 2007 Nissan 350Z, ticked over 131697km on the last drive, regular gasoline engine. She was last serviced about six months back. No major changes since then except this pesky issue. Cheers for the assist! Let's see if we can crack this nut together. Peace!

No worries! Glad to help out a fellow 350Z driver. Looking forward to checking out those error codes. Until then, I've got a feeling this could be a grounding problem. Given the symptoms you described (electric malfunction, messed up navigation, warning light), it could be that a main ground cable has loosened or become damaged. A faulty ground connection can result in erratic and seemingly unrelated electrical issues. It's worth giving it a glance over! Also, I remember my mechanic mentioning that FlexRay bus issues are pretty uncommon in our model. Of course, it never hurts to thoroughly check everything. One more thing - that warning light in the speedometer is usually linked to the car's ECU. It might be useful to get a diagnostic scan at a local dealer or a trustworthy mechanic's shop. Cheers! We'll get your old gal back to her glory days in no time.

Cheers for the detailed insight! Your suggestion about checking the grounding cable seems plausible. I'll give it a once-over and see if anything's amiss there. Also, I'll look into the ECU possibility as well. Who'd have thought the warning light was linked to that, huh? Anyhow, I'll get those error codes sent your way when I get home. Appreciate the hand you're lending here. We'll get her running smooth again soon, I can feel it. Thanks again and catch ya later! Peace!
