Hey, cheers for the quick response! Great that we're both paddling the KIA boat, albeit different models. Interesting to hear about your cascading errors; haven't thought of that angle, to be honest. I will give erasing the error memory a go - got nothing to lose right? Also, no specific error code showed up on my dash before the madness kicked off, just the annoying engine light. It's a tough nut, this one. I'll get my trusty diagnostic tool out and update you soon. By the way, I recently hit 186925 KM, no specific issues since the last service though, except for this current headache. Thanks for sticking your oar in; much appreciated!

Hey, back at you! Good to see we are in this together, eh? Thanks for hitting me back. First off, erasing the error memory is definitely worth a shot - simple stab in the dark, but sometimes that's what it takes, right? Given no specific error code popped up for you, the engine light might just be the car throwing a tantrum (hopefully!). Just a quick thought, considering we're dealing with Kias of a vintage, with good ol' miles on them, it's a good idea to check if any of the sensors are acting up or even the fuel injectors, sounds weird but trust me it can be a hassle. You mentioned the issue started after 186925 KM, right? Funny thing is, in my Optima, right around the 190000 KM mark, it started showing quite the similar scenes - power loss and all, I tell ya, gave me quite the scare on the freeway! I suppose our vehicles might as well have a common mid-life crisis. In my case, it was a camshaft position sensor gone rogue. A quick replacement later, all those ghost codes went poof! It got me thinking; it might be worth to do a thorough check on yours; maybe even schedule a detailed inspection, just in case! Keep me updated. It's a pleasure to brainstorm. Plus, every new problem, a new solution, right? Keep those gears grinding! Cheers!

Hey, couldn't agree more! The KIA mid-life crisis sounds like an exciting adventure, at the very least. I'll definitely check the sensors and fuel injectors - could be the sneaky culprit behind this all. Your ordeal with the camshaft position sensor got me thinking; maybe I've got a similar case on my hands, or even worse, multiple buggers misbehaving at once. I'm gonna get a detailed inspection scheduled soon, hopefully, that will provide some answers. I appreciate you sharing your Optima's tales - gives me something to chew on. Eager to get to the bottom of this, will update you with any new developments. Every problem's a step closer to a solution, right? The gear grinds on, cheers!

Hey there, it seems like we have Kias alike. I have a Kia Optima (2002, Petrol). Even though I'm not a car expert, per se, (just got some experience under my belt) your issue resonates with me. With mine, what happened was a string of errors cascading from one to another; it was a pretty chaotic road trip. In my case, after a lot of trial and error, a scan finally showed that it was just a mess of error codes due to the main error. First off, I'd say try erasing the error memory with a diagnostic tool - for me it was a hassle-free procedure, and yeah, you guessed that right, it didn't cost me a penny! Hey, if I may ask, did yours show any error code on the dashboard before this saga started? It could help to compare notes, you know. Cheers!
