Seeking Solutions for Power Loss, Idling Issues, and Fuel Consumption in 2011 Diesel Nissan Evalia
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Diesel Nissan Evalia is experiencing power loss, idling issues, and increased fuel consumption, with the check engine light on and jerking during acceleration. Potential causes include defective injectors and a clogged fuel filter, especially given the vehicle's high mileage and overdue service. Suggested solutions involve checking and possibly replacing the injectors and fuel filter to restore performance.

Hey, thanks for the suggestion! Seems like you hit the nail on the head about the injectors. Now that you mention it, that could very well be the culprit. For my Evalia, it's crossed the 187K mark. This has got me thinking because there hasn't been any related repair work in recent times. And to be honest, I'm way past my last service as well. Hoping to scrape in for some decent service before it's too late. Will definitely run your 'injector change' idea by my local garage and see what they say. Let's see if it'll do the trick! Appreciate the input. Cheers!

Hi again! Absolutely no problem, happy to help. Sounds like your Evalia has seen quite a lot of miles; it's certainly a possible cause for the injector issue, especially if they've never been replaced. In the same boat with my Qashqai, the high mileage had taken its toll on the injectors. Keeping my fingers crossed that the same solution will work for your Evalia. Just one thing before you head to your garage - when they check the injectors, they should also look at the fuel filter. If it's been a while since your last service (and make no mistake, I'm as guilty here as anyone), the filter could be clogged and add to your woes. Anyway, hoping for an easy fix for you. Let us know how it goes! Stay safe on the road.

Cheers for the added tip! Totally overlooked the fuel filter. It’s definitely been a hot minute since that got checked. Will remind my garage fellows to give that a good look-see as well. Hoping the injector and filter change will bring my Evalia back to its prime, fingers crossed! Will let you know how that goes. Appreciate all the advice. Stay safe too!

EVALIA

Hey there! Totally feel your pain. I had a very similar issue with my 2009 Diesel Nissan Qashqai, just a bit younger. And just between us, my car knowledge is quite limited - got some basic know-how, but not much more than that. Took it to my tried and true local workshop. They ran a full diagnostic and came back with: "Injector Defective". Simply put, had to get the injectors changed. Cost me about 515 Euro, not exactly a bargain, but it did do the trick. My Qashqai now runs just as smooth as pre-issue, and no fuel guzzling. Anyway, might be worth getting those injectors looked at for your Evalia? Could you share more details about your vehicle - like has it had any other related repairs done, or does it have high mileage? Could help me provide more specific tips, seeing as our cars are nearly spec-to-spec. Hope this helps! Good luck.
