Seicento Coolant Loss
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Fiat Seicento is experiencing coolant loss, leading to the check engine light activating. The issue is identified as a leaky hose, which causes the coolant level to drop rapidly. The suggested solution is to have the vehicle inspected by a professional to prevent engine overheating. The problem is resolved by replacing the hose and performing a coolant flush.

Thanks for the tip! I did top it off last week and it's already low again. I don't remember the last time the radiator fluid was changed... could it really be that simple? Is it worth trying to change it myself, or am I better off taking it to a shop?

Sounds like it's leaking somewhere then, and not just old fluid. It could be a hose, the water pump, or even worse, the head gasket. Given that it's losing coolant that fast, I'd get it checked by a workshop. You don't want to risk overheating the engine.

Okay, thanks for the advice! I took it to the shop, and it turned out to be a leaky hose. New hose and coolant flush, all sorted for 52€! I appreciate the help!

I had something similar with my Seicento. Is it losing coolant quickly? Keep an eye on the coolant reservoir. If you are topping it up all the time, there is a leak somewhere. When did you last replace the radiator fluid?
