Sentra vacuum leak symptoms

Hi, I have a 2015 Nissan Sentra, gasoline engine, with almost 200k km on it. Lately, the check engine light has been on, engine power is noticeably reduced, and the response is poor, not to mention the fuel consumption went up significantly. I suspect the manifold pressure sensor. Could it be a large vacuum leak?

I had similar symptoms on my Sentra. Check the intake manifold gasket and the hoses connected to it. A vacuum leak can definitely cause those issues.

Thanks! Was it definitely the manifold pressure sensor, or some other sensor? Did you replace it yourself, or go to a shop?

In my case, the sensor itself was fine. The large vacuum leak was the culprit. I recommend having a shop run a smoke test to pinpoint the leak before replacing any sensors.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion! Took it to the shop, they did a smoke test, and it was indeed a vacuum leak at the intake manifold. Replaced the gasket and some brittle hoses, new sensor as well (just to be safe), and now it runs like new. Total cost was 235€ Appreciate the help!
