Serena MAP Sensor Issue

My 2005 Nissan Serena diesel is giving me fits! The check engine light is on, and the engine feels like it's lost half its power. Response is terrible, and I'm burning fuel like crazy. Sound familiar? Could it be the manifold pressure sensor? I'm suspecting a big vacuum leak.

Reduced power and high fuel consumption? Does sound like a MAP sensor issue on your Serena. Have you checked for any obvious vacuum leaks? Any hissing sounds coming from the engine bay?

I haven't heard any hissing, but where exactly should I be looking for these vacuum lines? Are there any common weak spots on the Serena that I should check first?

Given the symptoms, and no hiss, it's likely the sensor itself has failed. It's not unheard of, and a vacuum leak that severe would usually be audible. Best bet is to get someone to check the sensor readings with proper diagnostic equipment. Might be time to visit a workshop!

Thanks for the advice! You were spot on. Took it to a workshop, and it was indeed the manifold pressure sensor. Replaced it and cost me 235€. Runs like new now!
