Siena AC Failure

I'm having trouble with the AC in my 2001 Fiat Siena diesel. It has 84649 km. There's an error, the AC doesn't cool or switch on, and a warning light is on. I think it's the AC control unit. Has anyone seen this before? Repair is about 980€.

I used a qualified technician because AC systems are complex and need special equipment. Also, refrigerants can be dangerous. The tech confirmed it was the module, replaced it, and recharged the system. I'd recommend a good shop that knows HVAC systems to avoid problems.
