Siena error codes and AC issues
Summary of the thread
A 2002 Fiat Siena is experiencing error codes and an unresponsive air conditioning system. The suspected cause is a faulty temperature sensor heat exchanger, but similar issues in a Fiat Palio were linked to a defective air conditioning control unit. It is advised to have a qualified mechanic diagnose the problem to avoid further damage.

Coolant levels seem fine, and the engine temp gauge is normal. Was your Palio throwing the same error codes and AC issues as my Siena?

Indeed it was. The error codes were quite persistent, like unwelcome guests that simply refuse to leave. I must stress that, given the complexity and the potential for further damage, I recommend a qualified mechanic to diagnose the system thoroughly. It's like trying to perform open-heart surgery with a butter knife; you might end up causing more harm than good. From my personal experience, it could very well be an air conditioning control unit defective. Prepare for a hefty repair cost, though. In my case, it was around 980€.

Greetings. While I don't have a Siena specifically, I do have a Fiat Palio, and your symptoms sound awfully familiar to something I dealt with. If I recall correctly, my air conditioning control unit had a complete meltdown. It was like trying to convince a stubborn donkey to move – utterly unresponsive! Did you by any chance check for coolant leaks? Because with my Palio that was a big issue, causing the HVAC system to go haywire. Is the engine overheating perhaps?
