Thank you for your input. Regarding the coolant leak, how did you diagnose it initially, and what was the process for identifying the faulty component in your Opel Astra?

Well, first I noticed the coolant level was dropping faster than usual. Then, I started seeing some wet spots under the car after it had been parked for a while. Honestly, I didn't figure it out myself. I took it to a workshop, and they used some kind of pressure test to find the leak. I'd suggest you do the same, could save you a lot of headache!

Oh, that sounds frustrating! I had a similar problem with my old Opel Astra, though it was a petrol engine. The heating was barely working, and the mechanic kept talking about the cooling system. Did you check for any coolant leaks? That was my issue, at least initially.
