Siena Seat Heater Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Fiat Siena's seat heater stopped working, with an error code suggesting a fault. The likely cause was identified as a faulty heating mat, similar to a burned-out lightbulb filament. After checking connectors and ruling out other issues, it was recommended to have the mat's resistance tested by a professional. The problem was confirmed and resolved at a workshop, with the heating mat being the issue.

No work on the seats recently, and I did check the connectors under the seat, they seemed okay. Is there anything else I should check before assuming it's the mat itself?

Given the symptoms and your checks, the heating mat is almost certainly the problem. Think of it like this: you've ruled out the power supply (connectors) and the switch (error code points to mat), leaving only the mat itself. To be absolutely sure, a workshop could test the mat's resistance. But it sounds like it is time to visit a pro.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were right, it was the heating mat. Repair cost was 390€. All good now!

It certainly does sound like a faulty heating mat is the likely culprit. Think of it like a lightbulb filament that's burned out – no more heat. Has any work been done on the seats recently, perhaps upholstery or repair work? Were all connectors checked?
