Skoda Citigo check engine light and power loss

My 2018 Skoda Citigo with a gasoline engine is giving me grief. It's done 167750 km. The check engine light is on, and the car feels like it has lost a lot of power. I've also noticed a whistling noise, and there's a really loud hissing sound when I accelerate. My code reader says it's a charge air temperature sensor error. From what I've read, the likely cause is a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I had a similar issue with my Citigo. Check the charge sensor and its wiring. The airflow sensor might also be related, causing the temperature gauge to fluctuate. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick reply. When you say 'charge sensor and its wiring', where exactly should I be looking? And did you also experience the loud hissing sound when accelerating?

Yes that's the exact same hissing sound I had. The charge sensor is located near the intake manifold. Because I had the same symptoms and error code, I'd advise taking it to a workshop. It sounds like the cable or plug is faulty.

I took your advice and brought it to the shop. You were spot on. They found a defective connection to the charge sensor. 95€ later, the Citigo is running perfectly again. Thanks for the help.
