Skoda Citigo Electric Power Steering Problem

Thanks for the quick response! Regarding the hydraulic fluid, I did check it, and the level seemed fine. As for the error code, I don't have the exact code noted down, unfortunately. It was something along the lines of "power steering malfunction" or "steering assist failure", nothing too specific. Could this still be related to the same issue you had?

Okay, given that the hydraulic fluid is fine and the error code is generic, it does sound very similar to what I experienced. In my case, the issue was indeed a faulty connection within the electric steering system. It might be worth getting it checked at a workshop; they should be able to diagnose it properly. I would suggest you to check the wheel alignment as well. A bad wheel alignment could cause the same symptoms as a faulty steering system.

Just wanted to let you know. Took the Citigo to the workshop, and you were spot on! It was indeed a defective cable/plug connection to the steering system. They sorted it out for 95€. Thanks again for your help!

Interesting issue. I also drive a Skoda Citigo, though not the electric version, and I experienced something similar last year. The symptoms you describe – vibrating steering wheel, spongy handling – sound very familiar. Did you check the hydraulic fluid level? Also, could you provide more detail about the error stored in the memory? Was it a generic steering system error, or something more specific?
