Thank you for the suggestion. I have not checked the mass air flow sensor. Could you elaborate on how that might cause the engine to run lean? And what would be the best way to check it?

The mass air flow sensor measures the amount of air entering the engine. If it malfunctions and provides incorrect readings, the engine control unit (ECU) might calculate the incorrect amount of fuel to inject, leading to a lean condition. Regarding checking it yourself, it can be complicated without proper tools. Given that the check engine light is on, I would suggest taking it to a workshop. They can read the error codes and perform a proper diagnosis.

I appreciate the insight. It does indeed seem like the injectors were the issue. I took it to a workshop, and after replacing the faulty injector, the car is running smoothly again. The final bill came to 515€, which I suppose is the price to pay for peace of mind.

I have a Skoda Citigo as well. I experienced similar symptoms a while back. The check engine light illuminated, and the engine ran rough, especially when accelerating. Have you checked the spark plugs or the mass air flow sensor? These are common culprits.
