Skoda Citigo Engine Stalling Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Skoda Citigo with a gasoline engine experienced stalling at idle and a check engine light, indicating an idle control error. The likely cause was identified as a faulty idle air control (IAC) valve and a contaminated air intake. The recommended solution was to have the vehicle inspected and repaired at a workshop, which resolved the issue.

IAC valve... right, that's the idle air control valve, isn't it? Where exactly is that located, and what do you mean by 'air intake'? Is that difficult to check myself?

Yes, IAC valve is idle air control valve. As for your question, I am no expert, but my issue was indeed the IAC valve. The air intake was also heavily contaminated. To be honest, I would recommend taking it to a workshop. They should be able to diagnose the problem quickly.

You were spot on! Took it to the shop and they confirmed it was the IAC valve and a seriously gunked up air intake. Cost a pretty penny, 425€, but at least my Citigo is running smoothly again. Massive thanks for your help!

The symptoms you describe sound familiar. I own a Skoda Citigo as well. Engine stalling and the check engine light are definitely not good. I had similar issues, could be the IAC valve. Has the air intake been checked?
