Skoda Citigo Gear Display and Cruise Control Problems

I'm having a problem with my 2014 Skoda Citigo (gasoline engine). The error memory keeps throwing up a fault, the gear selection display in the speedometer is playing up, cruise control's gone, and sometimes the engine just refuses to start. My guess after some reading is that it could be the clutch switch. Has anyone else had similar issues? Could it be a simple defective cable or plug connection? It's driving me nuts.

Sounds suspiciously like what happened with my old Renault Megane. Same symptoms - cruise control dead, wouldn't start sometimes, and a weird gear indicator thing. Error memory too. The mechanic called it a 'safety switch' issue. Have you checked the cable and plug connection to the clutch switch? Apparently, that's a common culprit. It's like a tiny gremlin messing with the car's brain!

Where exactly is that clutch switch located, and is it easy to check the cable and plug connection myself? I'm not a mechanic, but I'm happy to have a look if it's straightforward.

That's exactly what I meant. It's worth a look, but honestly, on my Megane, it was a pain to get to. And even when I found it, I couldn't really tell if the connection was bad. The mechanic eventually told me the switch itself was faulty. So, while checking the connection is free, don't spend hours on it. If you are not able to diagnose it yourself, it might be quicker and easier to just get it checked by a professional.

Took it to the workshop, and you were right. It was the clutch pedal switch. They replaced it, and now everything's working. Cost me 95€, which I'm happy to pay to get rid of those issues. Thanks again for your help.
