Skoda Fabia ABS and Traction Control Problems

I'm at my wit's end! My 2007 Skoda Fabia, gasoline engine, is throwing up all sorts of errors. The ABS lamp is constantly illuminated, and the traction control is having a meltdown, leading to a complete ABS system failure. I've done some digging, and I suspect it's a defective control unit causing a speed signal fault. Has anyone else experienced this particular malfunction? The potential repair cost is looking to be around 1000€!

Sounds like a speed sensor issue. I had similar symptoms on my Fabia. ABS light on, traction control going nuts. Have you run a diagnostic?

Yes, I ran a diagnostic scan using VCDS. It's reporting a speed signal fault from what I understand affects the ABS system. Was your diagnostic pointing to the same thing? Did you also see anything related to the transmission or ECM?

Yep, same here. The diagnostic pointed directly to a faulty ABS control unit. I tried cleaning the sensors first, but no dice. Eventually, I had to get the entire unit replaced. I'd recommend getting a professional opinion from a workshop before throwing parts at it, just to be sure, but it really does sound like the controller.

Okay, I understand. I appreciate you confirming my suspicions. I'll bite the bullet and take it to the workshop. Turns out the controller was indeed to blame and needed replacement. A painful 1000€ lighter now, but at least it's sorted.
