Skoda Fabia AC compressor issue

I am experiencing issues with the A/C system in my 2000 Skoda Fabia with a gasoline engine. The A/C compressor is not switching on, and the air conditioning no longer cools. An error is stored in the error memory. Could undervoltage be the root cause? I've already checked for obvious refrigerant leaks and the pressure switch seems okay.

I had a similar problem with my Fabia. The A/C compressor would randomly shut off. Have you checked the AC relay? In my case, it was a faulty relay causing intermittent undervoltage to the A/C compressor.

Interesting, where is the AC relay located, and how did you determine it was the source of the problem? Did you also have any errors stored in the error memory?

The relay is in the fuse box, I don't remember the exact location. I had the same error stored. I replaced the AC relay first but the problem persisted, so I took it to a workshop. They diagnosed it as an undervoltage issue affecting the A/C compressor. They also checked the pressure switch.

Thanks for the help. I had the car at the workshop, and you were right. There was an undervoltage problem. They checked the A/C system, and after fixing a faulty ground connection, the A/C compressor is running fine again. Total cost was 240€.
