Skoda Fabia Air Valve Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Skoda Fabia with a gasoline engine exhibited a check engine light and minor idle problems, suspected to be due to an air valve issue, specifically a defective hose connection from the pump to the valve. The problem was confirmed by another owner who experienced similar symptoms, suggesting a vacuum hose leak as a potential cause. The solution involved replacing the faulty vacuum hoses, which resolved the check engine light and idle issues.

Interesting. Could you be more specific about which vacuum hoses? Was it obvious, like a split hose, or something more subtle? And did you also experience any rough idling?

Yes, rough idling was present. It was indeed the vacuum hoses. I didn't spot the exact location, but the mechanic pointed out that the connection from pump to valve was defective. I'd recommend a visit to a workshop; they will be able to locate the fault much faster.

Took the Fabia to the workshop. It was exactly as suspected, a faulty hose connection on the air valve. They replaced the vacuum hoses and ran diagnostics. Total cost was 175€. Check engine light is off and the idle problems are gone. Thanks for the confirmation!

I had a similar issue with my Fabia. Check the vacuum hoses connected to the air valve. A leak there can definitely trigger the check engine light and cause idle problems.
