Skoda Fabia Cranks But Wont Start

Alright, I'm officially stumped. My 2018 Skoda Fabia with a gasoline engine has decided it doesn't want to play anymore. It just cranks and cranks but refuses to start. I'm thinking it could be a fuel pump issue, or maybe something to do with the engine software? Any ideas, before I throw in the towel and call a mechanic? Could it be something as simple as bad cable connections?

Engine stalling on a Fabia, eh? I had a similar issue with mine, though it wasn't always a complete no-start. Did you notice any engine surge just before it quit? Or did the engine light come on beforehand? Maybe it's a completely different thing, but checking the error codes might be useful. Do you have access to a code reader?

Interesting... When you say similar, do you mean a complete no-start as well? And was it also related to the battery, or something else entirely? I did notice the Engine fault light a few times recently but ignored it...

Yeah, mine was a complete no-start sometimes too. I messed about with it for ages, checking fuses and relays, but in the end I caved and took it to a workshop. They sorted it quickly, and it turned out to be the battery cable connections. I know you mentioned it already, but maybe it's worth checking with a multimeter. Do you have one? Otherwise maybe take it to a professional.

Just wanted to let you know. You were spot on! Took it to a mechanic and it turned out to be a dodgy cable connection to the battery. All sorted now for 155€. Thanks again for the help!
