Skoda Fabia engine issue

I need your help! My 2006 Skoda Fabia with a gasoline engine is giving me headaches. The check engine light is on, and the engine power is noticeably reduced. I'm also hearing this really annoying whistling noise, almost like a loud hissing when I accelerate. I scanned for error codes, and it points to a charge air temperature sensor error. Could this be caused by a defective cable or plug connection?

That sounds very familiar! I had a similar issue with my Skoda Fabia. Check engine light, loss of power, the whole shebang. I even noticed some temperature fluctuation on the temperature gauge sometimes but only briefly. Did you also notice temperature fluctuation? It could be the airflow sensor or the air sensor itself. Have you checked the air intake for any obstructions?

Interesting! Yeah, the temperature gauge was acting a bit weird too, now that you mention it, but I thought it was just me. Where exactly should I be looking for the airflow sensor or the air sensor and the air intake? Is it something I can easily check myself, or do I need special tools?

Okay, so it sounds like we had the same problem. I'm no expert, but based on my experience, it's almost certainly a faulty connection to the sensor. I would recommend a trip to the workshop just to be sure to have it fixed correctly.

Took the Fabia to a local workshop, and you were right! They checked the charge air temperature sensor, and the cable connection was faulty. 95€ later, the check engine light is gone, the whistling is gone, and the power is back! Thanks for your help!
