Skoda Fabia Headlight Range Control Problem

I'm having trouble with the headlight range control on my 2002 Skoda Fabia with a Gasoline engine. It's got 145812 km on it. I have an error stored and the warning light is on. The low beams are either pointing way down or way up. I think it might be the servomotor inside the headlight. Has anyone else had this headlight malfunction?

I've had a similar issue with my Skoda Fabia. The adaptive headlights can be sensitive. When you say "error stored in the error memory", do you mean a diagnostic scan with an OBDII tool? Did you check the headlight switch for damage or loose connections? The headlight range control module could also be the problem. These systems use sensors and actuators, so finding the cause can be hard.

Thanks for the quick reply! I used an OBDII scanner and got a code for the headlight range control. When you had the same problem, was it definitely the servomotors, or something else? I don't want to waste money. Also, where is the control module?

In my case, the diagnostic pointed to a fault within the servomotors, so I had to replace them. But without a full inspection, it's hard to rule out other causes. The control module location can vary, but it's often near the steering column or behind the glove box. Given the complexity, you might want to talk to a workshop for a diagnosis.

Just letting you know, it was the servomotors like you thought. Cost me 1040€ to fix. Ouch! But the headlight light is off and I can see at night again. Thanks for the help!
