Skoda Fabia starting issues

My 2010 Skoda Fabia with a diesel engine is giving me headaches. At 195055 km, it sometimes refuses to start. Other times, the engine shuts off while driving or runs very rough. I suspect it might be the ignition switch, but the starter motor seems fine, and the dashboard light behaves normally. Any ideas?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Fabia. Check the fuse for the ignition coil. It might be blown.

Where is the fuse located and how do I check if it's blown? I'm not really familiar with car electronics.

The fuse box is usually under the dashboard or in the engine compartment. Check your car's manual for the exact location. Visually inspect the fuse; a broken wire inside means it's blown. If that's not it, maybe get the ignition switch checked at a workshop.

It was the ignition switch. I replaced it, and the Fabia is running smoothly again. Total cost was 52€. Thanks for your help!
