Skoda Fabia Turn Signal Malfunction
Summary of the thread
A Skoda Fabia owner experienced a malfunction with the turn signal lamp, which triggered an error message and fault indication in the lighting system. The error memory report suggested a defective cable or plug connection as the cause. After replacing the bulb and checking the connector without success, the issue was confirmed by a workshop to be an electrical fault due to a faulty connector. The connector was replaced, resolving the error, with a repair cost of 95€.

I replaced the bulb, but the error remains. I also tried wiggling the connector, but no luck. I don't have the exact error code. Could a faulty ground connection cause this?

A faulty ground is possible, but less likely if it's only affecting one indicator. Since you've replaced the bulb and checked the connector, it sounds like an electrical fault within the wiring harness or the connector. It's difficult to diagnose remotely without the error code. Considering the cost, it's probably best to take it to a workshop. They can diagnose the electrical fault and repair the defective connection. Is it worth risking further damage to the BCM? Probably not.

Electrical issues, huh? A common issue with modern lighting. Have you checked the bulb? Try wiggling the connector while the indicator is on to see if it flickers, that could confirm a loose connection. Do you know the specific error code? That would help pinpoint the problem. It could be a BCM issue, but hopefully not!
