Skoda Fabia wiper issue

I have a problem concerning my 2018 Skoda Fabia with a diesel engine. The windshield wipers have suddenly stopped working entirely. The wiper blade remains stubbornly at rest. Diagnostic testing reveals an error stored in the error memory. Based on my preliminary research, the likely cause is a defective cable or plug connection within the component. Does anyone have suggestions on where to start troubleshooting? I'm trying to avoid an expensive trip to the repair shop if possible. Any guidance on checking the wiring harness or the wiper switch itself would be greatly appreciated.

I had a similar issue with my Fabia. Check the wiring harness around the steering column. Is your cruise control working fine, or is that acting up too? Sometimes the rain sensor can also be a culprit, but given the error code, the wiring is more likely the issue.

I'd still recommend having a workshop take a look; fiddling with the steering column wiring can be tricky and potentially disable other systems. They replaced the connector and did some work on the wiring, and the wipers are now functioning perfectly. The total cost was 95€, so right on the money.
