Skoda Kamiq ABS and Traction Control Problems

Thanks for the quick reply! I have not checked the wheel speed sensors individually, only read the error codes with VCDS. The codes point towards a general speed signal malfunction. Do you remember what error codes you received when the wheel speed sensor failed? Was there any transmission impact?

My apologies, my issue had similar symptoms but was not identical. The error codes I got specifically pointed to the front right wheel speed sensor implausible signal. Given that your error is more generic and the speedometer is acting up, it does sound more like the ABS control unit itself as you suspect. Considering the cost and complexity, I would strongly advise taking it to a workshop with Skoda diagnostic equipment for thorough testing before replacing any parts. They can perform specific tests on the ABS module and wiring to confirm the diagnosis. Good luck!

Took the Kamiq to a reputable workshop, and it was indeed the ABS control unit. They replaced it, coded it, and the fault is gone. The speedometer is working correctly, the ABS light is off, and the traction control is back. Cost me approximately 1000€. Thanks for your input; it was extremely helpful in diagnosing the issue and preparing for the repair.

I experienced something similar with my Kamiq. The ABS and traction control lights illuminated intermittently, and the speedometer would occasionally drop to zero. In my case, the issue was related to a faulty wheel speed sensor. Have you checked those?
