Skoda Kamiq AC Problem

I'm experiencing a problem with my 2020 Skoda Kamiq with a diesel engine. It has about 164970 km on the clock. The air conditioning has suddenly stopped cooling, and the system doesn't seem to switch on at all. I've checked the temperature control settings, but everything seems to be correctly configured. From what I've read online, it could be a defect in the individual valves in the air conditioning system. I'm concerned about the potential repair costs, as I've heard it could be quite expensive. I'm trying to gather as much information as possible before taking it to a mechanic. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue, or does anyone have any advice on AC diagnostics or potential problems within the cooling system? Any thoughts on AC efficiency would be helpful.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Skoda Octavia a while back. The AC stopped working suddenly. Have you checked the AC relay? It's a simple thing to check and replace. If that's not it, it could be a problem with the pressure sensor or even the compressor. You say the system doesn't switch on at all. Have you tested whether there's power getting to the AC compressor?

Thanks for the quick reply. I haven't checked the AC relay yet; to be honest, I'm not entirely sure where to find it and how to test it. Could you give me a bit more detail on where I can find the AC relay and how to check if it is working properly? Any advice would be appreciated.

Yeah, mine was doing the same thing. No lights, no fan, nothing turned on. From your description, it does sound like it could be the valves as you suspected. If you're not comfortable poking around with the electrics, which I understand, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop and getting an AC diagnostics test done. It'll cost you a bit for the test, but at least you'll know exactly what you're dealing with before committing to a full repair.

Thanks a lot for your help. I took it to a local garage after getting a few quotes, and it seems like the valves in the AC system were indeed faulty. They replaced them and refilled the system, and it's now blowing cold air again. Cost me around 1000€, but at least it's fixed.
