I haven't checked the wiring yet, I will take a look. When you say diagnostic tool, do you mean an OBD reader? I have a basic one, but it only shows the error code related to the DPF issues. I can't see any live data from the diesel exhaust pressure sensor with it.

Yeah, a basic OBD reader might not give you the detailed sensor data you need. If the wiring looks okay, it's highly probable that the diesel exhaust pressure sensor itself is failing. Given the symptoms and the error code, replacing the sensor is a reasonable next step. I would still suggest having it properly diagnosed by a workshop, as DPF issues can be complex and misdiagnosis can be expensive.

Thanks for the input. I had it checked out, and you were spot on. The diesel exhaust pressure sensor was faulty. New sensor fitted, cleared the codes, and all seems good. Total cost was 245€.

That sounds like a potential issue with your diesel particulate filter (DPF) system. Low exhaust pressure readings when the system is clearly working harder (smoke and power loss) definitely points towards a faulty sensor. Have you tried checking the wiring to the pressure sensor? Sometimes a loose connection or damaged wire can cause incorrect readings. Also, do you have access to a diagnostic tool to read the actual pressure values being reported?
