Skoda Kamiq Oxygen Sensor Issue

Desperate for some help here! My 2022 Skoda Kamiq diesel has been throwing up a check engine light, and the error memory says it's an oxygen sensor heater failure. It's done nearly 200000 km. I have also noticed it's drinking more fuel than usual since this started. From what I've read, it's likely a bad connection somewhere. Really hoping it's not a whole new car components thing!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Skoda Octavia – also a diesel. Check the oxygen sensor wiring harness first. A damaged wire or corroded connector can cause the heater element to fail.

Interesting! When you say wiring harness, are we talking about the bit right at the sensor itself, or further back? And how did you confirm that was the problem?

Yes, the connection right at the sensor. I did some sensor testing with a multimeter and found that the heater element wasn't getting any power. Turned out the cable was visibly damaged near the plug. If you are not confident maybe a visit to the workshop will be better.

Took it to the shop, and you were spot on – faulty cable to the oxygen sensor. 95€ later, it's fixed. Huge thanks for your help!
